Nitekap In Concert

Ken Horne and Allison Johnson have been joined by Paul Brockman to form NiteKap, a trio of local Bedford musicians who perform an eclectic mix of American folk music. Their stage show spans several centuries and many genres of American folk music. From contemporary americana to sixteenth century Childe ballads, from classic blues to country music standards (and some that ought to be), NiteKAP offers a wide variety of musical styles and arrangements. Allisons' sparkling lead vocals and intricate harmonies blend perfectly with Ken's rich baritone leads and Paul’s tenor accompaniment. Accompanied by Ken on finger style guitar and six string banjo and Paul on fiddle and Bazouki, NiteKap creates an evening of music that is entertaining, inspiring, and always a whole lot of fun.

Join us for a night of musical fun with NiteKAP on Saturday, August 10th from 6-8pm.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Other Events at Bower

For years, local artists in the Bedford region wanted a venue to showcase their work. Finally, in 2019, after much collaboration and behind the scenes planning, the first Bedford International Film Festival was born.


The Bedford Film Festival is a one-day event where attendees have the opportunity to be the first to view films from around the world alongside films shot in your backyard (sometimes literally).

 
This event is hosted by Bedford International Film Festival here at Bower Center for The Arts on July 6th!

We have two great camps left in our Summer camp lineup! 

Around The World in 5 Days kicks off on July 8th
Travel with Bower Center for the Arts as you learn about different cultures and continents, re-creating famous art styles from around the world! Join instructors Clara May Maxson, Judy Hylton and Dana Tickle as you explore creating art from different cultures. 

The Art of Science begins on July 22nd
Hop on the Magic School Bus, we're heading to the Bower Center! Learn how science and art have more in common than you think. Experiment with fun art projects and create works of art while learning the science behind them, including recycled art, learning the science behind movement as an art form and more. Current instructors include Emilie Temeles and Kathy Graham. 

Camp is from 9am - 1pm. Drop off at 8:30am.
For ages 6-15 years. Registration is $175. Scholarships are available!

Special Reminder:

Due to a combination of the holiday, staff vacations, and upcoming construction in our Braaten Gallery- Bower Center will be closed to walk-through visitors from July 4th to July 22nd. Reopening on July 23rd! 

All classes, camps, workshops and already scheduled meetings and events will go on as planned! Staff will on site to answer calls and questions.
