Message from Executive Director

Susan Martin

Happy Groundhog Day!  Unfortunately, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so we're looking at 6 more weeks of winter.  Fortunately, the Bower Center is offering many ways to fight those winter blues in February with the opening of a new exhibition, the launch of our 2022 Concert Series, art educational opportunities for youth & adults, and a fun event to end the month.

In addition, we're launching a new set of email newsletters.  In the first newsletter of each month you'll now receive a short message from me, or possibly a guest writer such as another staff member, board member or artist.  This newsletter will also include a highlight of what's coming up next, an artist spotlight, and a look back in images at the previous month.  You will continue to receive a weekly email newsletter on Wednesday and those following this initial email will focus on more details about what's happening at the Bower Center and around our community.

We hope you enjoy this new format and look forward to keeping you informed on all things Bower and those who bring art and creativity to our community!  As always, for the most up-to-date information regarding our calendar of events, to view our virtual exhibits, register for concerts & classes please visit our website at bowercenter.org.

Sincerely,

Susan

Lori Stetson, BCA Studio Artist

Oils, Wire Sculpting "Wire Woods and other Whims"

Lori's artistic talents developed right alongside her furred and feathered obsession painting animal portraits for 30 years. Stepping outside of her comfort zone in 2002,  she began producing works from her head and heart and exploring new mediums. Wire sculpting, oil painting and the study of trees and water are all current areas of interest.  Her work has been featured on the covers of an international veterinary magazine and homes across the country.

In March & April, three of Lori's wire sculptures will be featured in the 41st Annual Western Spirit Juried Art Show and Sale in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  CONGRATULATIONS to Lori!  Check out her selected pieces & the full exhibit online below.
