Message from Executive Director

Susan Martin

Dear Bower Family & Friends,

Summer seems to be flying by.  It's hard to believe we are half way through our youth summer camps and are beginning our planning for fall and winter programming and events.

This summer we've introduced a new opportunity for everyone in our community to share their talents at our monthly Open Mic Nights.  Join us every 3rd Tuesday with DJ Showtime, Jon Hayden and share your talents through music, comedy, dance, spoken word and more!

Thanks to our Open Mic Night we were introduced to comedian, L.A. Preston from Roanoke and are excited to add a Comedy Night to our performance calendar on August 27.  We hope you'll enjoy a fun evening with L.A. and his friends.

Today we are excited for the opening of our first National Juried Paper Art Exhibition, a new national juried exhibit that is discipline specific in that the artwork has been created with paper, another media on paper, or mixed in with paper.  Visit between now and August 20, gallery admission is always free or view the exhibit online HERE.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer and if you're looking for opportunities to beat the summer heat, check out our website for upcoming classes, live performances, events and more!  Visit bowercenter.org for details.

Sincerely,

Susan
