Reception: 5–7 PM, Gallery Talk: 6 PM  

We invite you to join us on Friday, August 22, from 5:00–7:00 PM for an Artist Reception and Gallery Talk featuring textile artist Ellen Lindner, who will be traveling from Florida to share her bold, abstract works. Light refreshments will be served, and at 6:00 PM Ellen will give an artist talk, offering insight into her creative journey and techniques. This special event is free and open to the public, so bring a friend and enjoy an inspiring evening at the Bower Center for the Arts.

Ellen Lindner: Embracing the Unexpected

We’re excited to announce the opening of two new solo art exhibits on display in the Braaten and Terrace Galleries August 19 – September 27, 2025. These exhibits invite you to experience bold creativity and fresh perspectives in fiber arts.

Elaine Fleck: Born in Ft. Monroe, Virginia into a military family, Elaine is a painter best known for paintings of fabric and oils. The colors and textures of the many cultures she experienced in her early years contribute greatly to giving her work its vibrant and deeply complex quality.

Ellen Linder: A former flight instructor, Ellen didn’t try her hand at art until her forties. After learning the basics, she quickly began to experiment, and over the course of years developed her own techniques. More recently, Ellen has been printing all her own fabric and working abstractly. 

Gallery Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm and admission is free.
