Upcoming Concerts & Events

Two June Concerts Not To Be Missed!

Sam Wheelock In Concert | June 1st at 7pm

"The one man show "A Story and a Song '' is partially a love letter about life as a child in the Appalachian Mountains. Part eclectic roots music and part memoir. Mostly, it's a heartfelt journey into the souls of a people... my people, our heritage and who we honestly are."

Mountain Sam Wheelock is an authentic part of the heritage of the music and subculture of the southern Appalachians. His knowledge of the region's music runs deep. Sam's understanding of his people makes him a treasure. The sound of his Tennessee voice resonates sorrow and joy in every note, in every story and connects all of us.

Tickets: $20 in advance, $25 at the door

Paddy Dougherty Presents The Winds of Change | June 21st at 7pm

Paddy Dougherty’s musical career has taken her on quite a ride. First as a backup singer for national bluesman David Bromberg, performing in venues along the east coast; Wolf Trap (DC), the Bottom Line (NYC), Lime Kiln (VA), the Iron Horse (MA), the Birchmere (VA), the United Nations Building (NYC), the Philadelphia Folk Festival (PA), Mountain Stage Radio (WVA), and at numerous clubs and festivals along the east coast.

Now back in Lynchburg, close to family, Dougherty enjoys empowering children’s voices and sharing her love of music with the students of James River Day School, directing the choir at Holy Cross Catholic Church, as well as guiding select private students in piano, guitar, voice, bass and songwriting.

Artists Corner

Community Opportunities

Mural Of Appreciation
Bedford Get Together is proud to sponsor a mural on the north-facing wall of the Radford and Wandrei, PC building overlooking Centertown Park.
The subject of the mural has evolved from an initial inspiration based on a Normandy Beach image to an effort to recognize the contributions of those largely overlooked by history - African-Americans, women, those who serve our country in other ways.
We want to recognize the intricate connections among the people of Bedford through War, service and devotion to community and country over time. This mural is an intimate expression of appreciation, embedded in this place, this community.
The mural will define the park space, recognizing shared service and sacrifice and reflecting the best of Bedford.

A Call for Artists has officially been opened for submissions as of April 15th!
