We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Sara Braaten, our founding Executive Director and a guiding force in building the Center into the vibrant community arts hub it is today.
For more than a decade, Sara led Bower Center with vision, dedication, and a heartfelt belief in the importance of the arts for everyone. In recognition of her impact, our main gallery and performance space proudly bears her name, the Sara Braaten Gallery.
Even after retiring, Sara remained a devoted supporter, volunteer, and constant presence at performances, classes, and events. Her commitment, creativity, and passion shaped not only this organization, but also the artistic life of Bedford.
We are profoundly grateful for her legacy and extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Her influence will continue to inspire all who walk through our doors.
