2026 Suzie Viemeister Emerging Artist

Leeann Allagas

Art on 3rd at Bower Center for the Arts.

Leanne Allagas has been a self-defined “crafter” for years; however, started to connect more with traditional artforms and creating art through the medium of watercolor prior to being accepted to Art Therapy school in Pennsylvania in 2016. While in Art Therapy school, she was able to learn how art can help self-expression and healing for the creator as well as the observer and thus started a Facebook page entitled Lunalee Artwork where she captured moments of her own healing process.  After moving to Bedford in June of 2024, Allagas decided to start her own business called Lunalee Artwork and Art Therapy where she offers telehealth virtually.

During the 2026 Suzie Viemeister Emerging Artist Residency, Allagas is delving into what it means to be an artist and to own that title while expanding the type of artwork created through various media: clay, mosaics, acrylic paint, textiles/fiber, mixed media, etc.  She is naturally drawn to nature, plants, animals, and how the depictions can help the viewer be transformed. Her solo exhibit will take place in November - January 2027.
