Get ready to get muddy! In this hands-on introduction to the pottery wheel, young artists will transform a ball of clay into functional treasures. This class is designed specifically for smaller hands, focusing on the tactile joy of clay while building foundational skills in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Over 6 weeks, students will learn the wonders of centering, opening, and pulling clay to create their very own bowls, cups, and whimsical sculptures. We embrace the mess and celebrate every wobble as a step toward becoming a master maker! Thus class meets on Sunday afternoons starting March 22 and ends April 26 from 1:00-2:30pm.
What Your Child Will Learn:

INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Thomas shares: “I discovered the magic of the pottery wheel at age 8, and it has been a grounding force in my life ever since. My mission is to share that same sense of wonder and focus with the next generation of makers. With a Bachelor’s degree supported by extensive internships in youth and family advocacy, I bring a unique perspective to the studio. I have completed advanced training in youth outreach, family counseling, and mindfulness-based expressive arts, allowing me to foster an environment where children feel both technically challenged and emotionally supported. I believe that centering clay is a wonderful metaphor for centering oneself, and I can't wait to help your child find their 'flow' at the wheel.”
