Mosaic Basics with Peggy Markham

Description

This five-week course is designed for beginners who want to build a strong foundation in the art of mosaics. Through guided instruction and hands-on projects, you'll learn the essential techniques that mosaic artists use while developing the confidence to create your own work.

Throughout the course, you'll explore materials, cutting techniques, adhesives, substrates, design, spacing, and grouting. Just as importantly, you'll begin to train your eye to notice the relationships between color, shape, texture, spacing, rhythm, and form—the visual language that gives a mosaic harmony, movement, and character.

Each class builds upon the last, allowing your skills and understanding to grow naturally over five weeks. Whether you're interested in creating meaningful gifts, adding handmade art to your home, or discovering a new creative passion, this course will provide a solid foundation for your mosaic journey.
