June 14-18 ENCHANTED GARDENS: THE POWER OF FLOWERS 

Instructors: Dotti (Mosaics), Carol Delledera (Clay), Paddy Dougherty (Music) 

For Ages 6-15 yrs. 

Enchanted Gardens: The Power of Flowers Long ropes of twining vines draped in huge leaves, exotic shaped flowers bursting out with stunning colors and scents! Let’s create gardens using clay, mosaics and music, to make flowers and plants both real and imaginary. Come learn to appreciate and be inspired by nature! 

In Clay, we’ll make Wall pockets decorated with impressed flowers or ornamented with our own sculptured flowers. Using clay slabs we’ll create 3D flowers inspired by nature or our own imagination. 

In Mosaics, we’ll create a flower design on a 6”x9” concrete garden stepping stone to beckon you into your garden. First we’ll learn how to prepare the stone, create a flower mosaic on it using colorful glass tiles, then grout it, seal it, and best of all, enjoy it! Students will take home the sealer and instructions how to apply and clean their mosaic before the stepping stone goes into their garden (indoors or outside.) 

In Music....Birds chirping, wind rustling, cars passing, kids laughing...these are just some of the enchanted sounds that we will listen for and share. Campers will experience collaboration, imagination and exploring the science of sound and song through instrument making and songwriting.

Please send your child with a healthy snack and drink for the mid-morning and a bag lunch. We can provide refrigeration if needed. Your child should wear comfortable clothing for our Yoga class, as well as for the Art classes. We will be visiting the Wharton Garden outside during the week! We will observe Covid protocols as mandated by the Governor.
