Join the adventure with color! Students will practice mixing colors to enhance their paintings. While working from still life, students will also learn about composition basics in two-dimensional art. As students work on paintings, they will benefit from a collaborative art community providing supportive critiques for each artist. This class is suitable for all skill levels. Watercolor is the primary medium of study; however, color and composition transfer to any medium.


MATERIALS LIST:

Students will need to bring the following to class:

  • 9x12 Watercolor Paper Pad
  • Watercolor Brushes
    • ¾ inch oval wash brush
    • size 10 round brush
    • size 6 brush
    • a liner brush


INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Color and composition will be taught by artist Judy Almond. She studied painting at George Mason University and has continued to participate in local art communities since then. As a teacher, Judy enjoys helping others discover their talents!


CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations made 1 week or more in advance of the class date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the class will not be refunded.
    • Students will have the option to transfer registration to another class in place of receiving a refund.
    • Special consideration will be given to cancellations due to health-related issues and family emergencies.
  • If you plan miss a session of class, please inform your instructor, or email our Program Coordinator, Lauren Hood, at L.hood@bowercenter.org
    • There will be no refunds or discounts given for missed classes.
