We provide attentive hands-on wheel throwing instruction in our small group class size with a 3 to 1 student-teacher ratio. Beginners will receive an introduction to throwing techniques: centering clay\, forming cylinders\, bowls and plate forms. Glazing applications are also covered. For those more comfortable behind the wheel\, classes can be tailored to more complex forms: teapots\, pitchers\, covered jars\, etc.This is a 6 week course that meets on Tuesday afternoons from November 9th - December 14\, 3pm-4pm. The class fee is $160 for the 6 weeks & 1 bag of clay.Your instructor is Sarah Echols. Sarah is a certified teacher for grades p-5(GA certificate) and has worked in public\, private (Montessori) schools\, but largely in environmental education. Sarah has taught wheel throwing classes before\, and also has been a member of many local studios throughout her life.
