Produced from molten glass\, it is colored with metal oxides into a palette of hundreds of shades of different colors in its standard opaque form as well as transparent and gold smalti. A Power Point for students will show how this vibrant glass is made\, include some history\, and show work by different mosaic artists. Learn how to use the traditional hammer and hardie and modern wheeled cutters for cutting and shaping\, then create your own special smalti mosaic.
