Final Week of the Exhibit!

This week is the final chance to come see the 10th Annual National Juried Exhibition. June 25th will be the final opportunity to see the exhibit before we begin preparations for the National Paper Arts Exhibit, which opens on July 6th!

Protecting the environment can start with you! Use discarded and recycled materials to create impressive artworks of different mediums and scale. The sustainable practice of “junk art” offers limitless possibilities.


With recycled art, the possibilities are endless! Let your creativity bloom in this camp and explore the different avenues of sustainability in your artwork.

Makers Market


Celebrate summer and shop local handmade goods at Bower Center for the Arts! With over two dozen exhibitors from around the region, you are sure to find the perfect summer treasures and early holiday gifts at the Christmas in July Maker's Market!


This event will also include our popular Mimosa punch, chances to win door prizes, a Gift Basket raffle, free family activities, live entertainment and a maker’s space for kids to get creative!


Admission is $2 per adult/youth age 17 and under are free.  Donations will also be accepted for Jon Hayden's Annual Back-to-School Backpack Program!  (All proceeds will benefit art programming at Bower Center.)

Help us hit our fundraising goal out of the park by purchasing a ticket online or mentioning the Bower Center at the box office the day of and joining us at the Lynchburg Hillcats game. A portion of all tickets sold through the link below will support our arts educational programs.


Adult Classes Return in August!


Mosaics Basics: August 4th

Learn the basics of mosaic design, different materials, several methods of construction, cutting glass and porcelain tiles, and explore options for various types of projects.

Fabulous Felt Flowers: August 6th

In this fun hands-on workshop, we will transform Merino wool top into beautiful felt flowers using just our hands, imagination, and a little soap and water. This magical process is called wet felting. We will attach beads and a pin back so that you may adorn a coat or hat. Each participant will leave with at least two.
