12th Annual National Juried Exhibition Call For Artists

This exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18. All entries must be original works (no reproductions) and created by the artists within the past three years and not been in a previous juried exhibit at Bower Center. 2-D art must be in sturdy frames or gallery-wrapped and wired for hanging (no saw-tooth hangers or use of loops embedded in cardboard backing).
Works will be accepted in numerous media including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, print-making, collage, mixed media, photography, mosaics, sculpture, fabric, and glass (stained and fused).
Entry Fee: $35 entry fee for up to 3 works of art, plus $10 for a 4th art entry. You may enter online by clicking the Registration button on this page or downloading the paper entry and mailing it with check made payable to Bower Center to 305 N. Bridge Street, Bedford, VA 24523.
Our Judge: Allen TenBusschen
Judges Bio: Allen TenBusschen was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He received his MFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a BFA from Brigham Young University. Allen currently teaches painting and drawing at the University of Lynchburg. He is locally represented by Steven Francis Fine Art in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Allen has cultivated a robust exhibition record, with shows in New York City, Boston, Detroit; winning numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. With a focus on Realism, Allen’s practice is about the search for authenticity, in our perceptions of one another and the spaces we inhabit.
