In 2022 Bower Center is hosting Paper Art, a new national juried exhibit that is discipline specific in that the entries must be created with paper, another media on paper, or mixed in with paper.

There are almost limitless types of paper, each with its own properties and unique way of being cut, twisted, wrapped, layered, and modified to become beautiful, creative works of art. They may be 2-D or 3-D, wall hung, suspended in space, supported by a pedestal, or free-standing on a floor.

The ceiling in the Sara Braaten Gallery is over 17 feet high and the entrance lobby about 21 feet high, therefore it is possible to suspend hanging pieces that are fairly light weight. Please contact Bower Center if you would be considering something to be suspended to discuss size, weight and method of hanging.

Types of paper art include:

          Papier-mâché

  •   Origami
