Join instructor, Sarah Echols for a wheel throwing class for beginner/novice to intermediate for ages 10 and up. We provide attentive hands-on wheel throwing instruction in our small group class size with a 3 to 1 student-teacher ratio. Beginners will receive an introduction to throwing techniques: centering clay, forming cylinders, bowls and plate forms. Glazing applications are also covered.
For those more comfortable behind the wheel, classes can be tailored to more complex forms: teapots, pitchers, covered jars, etc.
This is a 6 week course that meets on Tuesday afternoons from November 9th - December 14, 3pm-4pm.
The class fee is $160 for the 6 weeks & 1 bag of clay.
Your instructor is Sarah Echols. Sarah is a certified teacher for grades p-5(GA certificate) and has worked in public, private (Montessori) schools, but largely in environmental education. Sarah has taught wheel throwing classes before, and also has been a member of many local studios throughout her life. Since relocating to Lynchburg in 2017, Sarah has started her own pottery studio and produces her work from there.
$160 for the 6 classes and 1 bag of clay.
