Explore the world of ceramic art and pottery. Learn the techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab and the potters wheel. Creativity and originality are encouraged while you learn about the basics of using clay. Beginning to intermediate students welcomed. Cost of materials is $25, which is due on the first day of class. Kim Clarke grew up in Los Angeles where she attended art classes at Barnsdall Art Center Hollywood and the Pasadena Asian Museum as a child. She studied ceramics at Glendale College, Los Angeles City College and Moorpark College and has been working on her craft for over 30 years. Pulling from her imagination Kim has developed a unique style of whimsical figures showing influences from Maurice Sendak & Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Her works reside in galleries and private collections all over the world in including France and Australia. Kim now calls Virginia her home.
