Description

This 3-hour workshop allows you to design and complete up to two mosaic pendants that can be used as jewelry or keychains, from start to finish. A range of studio materials, such as glass, stone, beads, and millefiori, are available. Students will select a pendant base and learn how to cut glass using wheeled-tile nippers and glass cutters, and use micro cutters to repurpose jewelry, such as charms and other objects for re-use. Basic mosaic glass cutting techniques and ideal jewelry adhesives for the bezels will be discussed. No prerequisite is required.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: 

 Peggy Markham became interested in mosaics in 2018, and micro mosaics in 2024. She loves to share what she's learned and mosaic jewelry is fun to create! It doesn’t take long to finish a piece, and it’s a great beginning to get into the world of mosaics!

Peggy's art style is mostly expressive and whimsical, using vibrant colors and bold lines. She likes mosaics because she got to collect all kinds of tesserae (pieces you use to create your mosaic) like pre-made tiles, jewelry pieces, old dishes, broken glass, sea shells, etc., and incorporate those things into her designs. Teaching encourages her to continue creating and allows her to meet new people and encourage them to believe in their creative abilities even when they think they have none! 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

• Cancellations made 1 week or more in advance of the class date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the class will not be refunded.
  • Students will have the option to transfer registration to another class in place of receiving a refund.
  • Special consideration will be given to cancellations due to health-related issues and family emergencies.
