Description

Hone your drawing skills using still life arrangements. We will engage in a series of charcoal sketches on toned paper. Each week the student will learn a new skill and employ that skill during our scaffolded sketching sessions. The class will consist of three short sketches and one long sketch. After our long sketch, we will end each session with a class critique to foster growth as an artist. This class is suitable for all skill levels. Skills to be introduced will include basic shapes in light, line techniques, composition, and perspective.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Judy is a passionate artist and educator dedicated to sharing her love of art with the local community. She earned her degree in Art and Visual Technology with a minor in Art History from George Mason University, laying a strong foundation for her artistic expertise. From 1999 to 2009, she worked as a private youth drawing teacher, fostering creativity and skill development in young artists. In 2016, she obtained her teaching license, further solidifying her commitment to art education. With years of experience both as an artist and a teacher, Judy continues to inspire and educate others through her work.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made 1 week or more in advance of the class date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the class will not be refunded.

• Students will have the option to transfer registration to another class in place of receiving a refund.
• Special consideration will be given to cancellations due to health-related issues and family emergencies.
