"In my work I create an energized dimensional surface through layering of paint and papers. Often, I use a variety of papers as part of my surface. I enjoy the floating, ethereal quality it evokes. My work is abstract with some recognizable imagery. My layered paintings contain hidden symbols, shapes, and figures in the underlying layers which reflect my philosophy and spirituality. I like to incorporate nature, sensual form and line in my work. Lately I am using stamps, which I alter, in my mixed media pieces. Mixed media, including various water media as well as transparent layers, create a rich, complex surface play designed to engage the viewer and involve them in the artistic process."
