Beginner Yoga Series for Every Body!

In this 6 week yoga beginner series, we will:
- Focus on the Foundations Yoga
- Introduce proper body alignment
- Explore Pranayama (Breath Work)
- Move at a slower pace to develop safe and comfortable foundational poses
- Introduce the use of props, such as blocks, the wall and a chair
- Develop strength, flexibility and balance
Bring a friends and lets have some fun learning Yoga Basics! Yoga can becomea lifetime pracirve of connecting the breath, body and mind.
MATERIALS LIST:
Materials are available at Bower or students can bring their own:
- Mat
- Blanket
- Block
- Yoga strap
- Tennis ball
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Since being diagnosed wit scoliosis in her teens, Ellen Mackey has been aware of the importance of strengthening the body and maintaining flexibility. It was through this personal experience that she discovered the benefits of Yoga.
Ellen has a Masters in Education with classroom experience at the middle school level as well as community college instruction with Adults returning to the classroom. She completed her RYT 200 hour
teacher training with Cyndi Lee in 2015. She has attended multiple workshop and continues self study, focusing on Yoga as we age and Yoga for back care.
Ellen brings knowledge of anatomy along with the gentleness of compassion to her teaching. She strives to share with her students the healing qualities of yoga – the union of breath, body and mind.
