Figure Drawing Class with Robert Keith

This 4-week, 3-hour class will focus solely on the accurate portrayal of the human figure. Students will work with live figure models in various poses in order to hone skills in sighting, proportion, structure, planes & forms, blocking in, foreshortening, composition, and value vs. line drawings. Students will also spend time working on the accurate depiction of heads, hands, and feet. For students 18+
>>> Please Note: Students will be exposed to the nude figure in this class. We will discuss proper etiquette and behavior when working with live figure models. Any behavior which is deemed disrespectful, or results in the model, instructor, or fellow classmates feeling unsafe will result in immediate expulsion from the class. No refunds will be issued in the case of expulsion.
MATERIALS LIST:
Students should dress comfortably in clothes that can take some charcoal. Metal folding chairs and basic drawing supplies will be provided by the instructor. Students should bring an easel, and may bring a cushion or comfortable folding chair, an art board, and any of their own supplies if preferred.
Instructor Bio: Robert O. Keith IV is a native Coloradan, now happily residing in rural Virginia. He received his BFA from Colorado State University and completed a Master's at the University of South Carolina. He has taught Studio Arts at several universities, schools, and fine arts academies over the past decade, and currently teaches at Radford University.
