Nature Writing Course

Intended to introduce and foster an appreciation for nature writing, this class offers an outlet to learn about and increase nature and creative writing abilities. This class is great for writers with all levels of experience and offers a low pressure environment to get creative and explore ways of writing not always offered in a traditional school setting. Students will have a chance to learn brainstorming strategies, explore different methods and styles of creative writing, and learn self and peer editing techniques.
Class begins on April 7th from 2-3:30pm
Limit 10 students
For ages 11 and up!
MATERIALS LIST:
A notebook (possibly just for this class as we will be doing quite a few writing exercises!), something to write with.
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Jade Phillips is a graduate of the University of Lynchburg and has a degree in Environmental Science. She has always been passionate about writing both educationally and creatively and is especially passionate about fostering a love of writing and the natural world in others. Jade has contributed to several published works including her university’s literary magazine and several field guides.
Cancellations:
· Cancellations made 1 week or more in advance of the class date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the class will not be refunded.
o Students will have the option to transfer registration to another class in place of receiving a refund.
o Special consideration will be given to cancellations due to health-related issues and family emergencies.

o There will be no refunds or discounts given for missed classes.
