Pottery Basics and Beyond with Kim Clarke

Description
Ready to try your hand at the potter’s wheel and handbuilding? There will be helpful demonstrations and lots of hands-on time in this session. You will be learning the basics of wheel throwing, hand building, and surface decoration in this fun and casual class, taught by instructor Kim Clarke.
MATERIALS LIST
Students will be provided with a 25 lb bag of white stoneware clay (cone 5) and a variety of glaze options.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Kim Clarke grew up in Los Angeles where she attended art classes at Barnsdall Art Center Hollywood and the Pasadena Asian Museum as a child. She studied ceramics at Glendale College, Los Angeles City College and Moorpark College and has been working on her craft for over 30 years. Pulling from her imagination Kim has developed a unique style of whimsical figures showing influences from Maurice Sendak & Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Her works reside in galleries and private collections all over the world in including France and Australia.
CANCELLATION POLICY
· Cancellations made 1 week or more in advance of the class date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the class will not be refunded.
o Students will have the option to transfer registration to another class in place of receiving a refund.
o Special consideration will be given to cancellations due to health-related issues and family emergencies.

o There will be no refunds or discounts given for missed classes.
