Ready to try your hand at the potter’s wheel and handbuilding? There will be helpful demonstrations and lots of hands-on time in this fun and informative 6-week class . You will be learning the basics of wheel throwing, hand building, and surface decoration in this fun and casual class, taught by instructor Kim Clarke.
MATERIALS LIST: Students will be provided with a 25 lb bag of white stoneware clay (cone 5) and a variety of glaze options.
grew up in Los Angeles where she attended art classes at Barnsdall Art Center Hollywood and the Pasadena Asian Museum as a child. She studied ceramics at Glendale College, Los Angeles City College and Moorpark College and has been working on her craft for over 30 years. Pulling from her imagination has developed a unique style of whimsical figures showing influences from Maurice Sendak & Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Her works reside in galleries and private collections all over the world in including France and Australia.
